Polish FA has celebrated 85 years from its establishment. First centre was at Krakow, in 1919, and then the headquarters moved in the capital of the country, Warszawa, becoming member of FIFA in 1923.
Polish footbal had special performances: national team of Poland was ranked two times on third place at World Cup, in 1974 and 1982, and won three olympic gold, silver and bronze medals at Olympics from Munich - 1972, Montreal - 1976 and Barcelona - 1992. The Polish juniors teams have won twice the European Championship.
With this occasion of anniversary, Michal Lisikiewicz was reelected the chairman of Polish FA (PZPN), and he has as principal objectives the development of the infrastructure, the construction of new modern stadiums, the improvement of the system of preparation fot juniors, finding of new talents for which he established 14 football schools in the whole country, project which has started in the autumn of 2004.
"We hope, after the conditions which have now the young players, to see at national team, in the near future, players of mondial class, as Boniek, Deyna, Lato, Lubanski and other valuable footballers, which have brought glory to our football" - said Michal Lisikiewicz, chairman of PZPN.
